Amman - Arab Today

Arab League (AL) Chief Ahmed Abul Gheit wrapped up on Thursday his official visit to Jordan.

During his stay in the Arab country, Abul Gheit met with Jordanian King Abdullah II and other senior officials.

King Abdullah stressed that Jordan will exert all efforts to ensure the success of the 28th Arab League Summit which will be held in Amman and achieve a common Arab vision to confront crises facing the Middle East region.

The meeting dealt with a wide range of issues including Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya.

Abul Gheit voiced appreciation for Jordan's stances towards various Arab issues under King Abdullah leadership.

Abul Gheit has met also with Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki in the Jordanian capital Amman.

The meeting tackled issues on the agenda of the coming AL summit that will be held here in March.

The coming AL summit provides an opportunity to strengthen joint Arab action and find a political settlement to the various Arab issues, Mulki said.

Abul Gheit, for his part, praised the role played by Jordan to reinforce joint Arab action.
