Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs Khaled Anani opened on Sunday the second session of "Thebes in 1st Millennium" conference with the participation of 46 Egyptian and foreign researchers.

The conference comes under the sponsorship of South Asasif restoration project, the Antiquities Ministry and Egypt Exploration Society, said director of Luxor Antiquities Moustafa Waziri.

The conference, to run till September 29, will discuss research papers of 46 Egyptian and foreign researchers on tombs and temples in the 25th and 26th dynasties.

The minister arrived in Luxor on Saturday on a two-day visit to open several archaeological positions after they were restored
