Antiquities Minister Khaled el-Anani paid a visit on Friday to the West Bank in Luxor to mark Luxor National Day and the 94th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tombby British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922.

The minister was accompanied by Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr and French Ambassador in Cairo André Parant.

The minister also inspected the tomb of the powerful pharaoh Seti I, the largest tomb in the Valley of the Kings, after its re-opening four days ago.

About 38 visitors have flocked to the tomb of Nefertari in the Valley of Queens since its re-opening in early February and some 43 visitors to the tomb of Seti I, Anani added.

Anani hailed the fruitful cooperation between the Egyptian Antiquities Ministry and French archaeological missions working in Egypt.

He made the remarks on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Egyptian-French mission at Ramesseum temple in Luxor.
