Prime Minister of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki said on Monday that the Israeli aggression on sites in Syria is a violation of international law, a blatant aggression against a UN member country, and a grave act that merits condemnation from all countries that are keen on international security and peace. In a statement published on the Iraqi Prime Ministry website, al-Maliki noted that Iraq had warned of the threats that the expansion of the crisis in Syria will pose and its serious repercussions on the region and the world if the doors are opened to foreign interference, if proper political steps for resolving the crisis aren't taken, and if the suffering of the Syrian people isn't alleviated. He said that Israel's exploitation of the anomalous circumstances in the region is a cause for anticipating further deterioration and dangerous developments. Al-Maliki said that this transgression and the daily tragedies affecting the Syrian people should motivate all sides to act quickly and end this situation swiftly in order to save Syria and restore its natural role on the Arab and international levels. Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament condemns the aggression For his part, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Osama al-Nujaifi and his deputy Qusai al-Sahil condemned the Israeli aggression on Syria, calling on the Arab states to take a unified stance over this aggression. In a statement, al-Nujaifi affirmed that the Israeli aggression has targeted an Arab land, Arab people and was a flagrant, unacceptable violation of the UN charter, adding
