Emirati women learn emergency rescue training in Abu Dhabi
Dubai - Arab Today

Emirati women learn emergency rescue training in Abu Dhabi Five Emirati women officers of the Abu Dhabi Police force completed a training course on rescuing individuals trapped in vehicles, using the latest means and equipment to handle such emergencies. The course dealt with rescuing skills to free individuals trapped in vehicles involved in severe car accidents.
The five policewomen were also trained to use advanced programmes to locate airbags and identify the detailed technical specifications in the vehicle using an iPad.
This new system helps mitigate the risks for rescuers and victims.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, director-general of central operations, indicated that the police institution is keen to help its female staff advance and is looking to qualify them in several areas.
“The five policewomen underwent training on the latest hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and manual equipment; as well as the means to stabilise vehicles that involve advanced technical, tactical and detailed specifications,” he noted.
He affirmed that Emirati female nationals have achieved significant presence in various fields and have gone past the routine of administrative work to hands-on field work.
Lt Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Amri, Head of Emergency and Public Safety Department, Abu Dhabi Police said, “The police women interacted positively with the topics of this training. They performed practical exercises with high skill, which enabled us to determine their level of ability, in using rescue tools and responding to such accidents. This would promote the services of Abu Dhabi Police in search and rescue missions.”
