Egyptian newspaper
Cairo - Mohamed Alouch

Egyptian newspaper Head of the online journalist union Salah Abdel-Sabour, has backed the dismissal of 14 journalists from the Egyptian newspaper, Akhbar El Youm. The journalists were sacked without any reason. An official request was submitted to the chairman of the Shura Council, Dr. Ahmed Fahmy asking him to intervene in the matter.
The Managing editor of Akhbar El Youm  refused to comment about the dismissal.
The union assured that the rights of journalists in Egypt should be protected.
Abdel Sabour said that the submitted memorandum to the Shura Council requested that the journalists should be allowed to return to work and to sack whoever was responsible for the dismissal.
If there is no response, Abdel Sabour says that he will bring this issue to the international forefront.
