Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg
Geneva - Arab Today

The secretive, slightly obsessive Swedish hypercar maker has sent out invites to the launch of a new model and all that's known for certain is that it will be called the Agera RS.
Usually, long before a manufacturer even confirms that it might be developing a new car, spy shots captured while the vehicle was being put through road testing have already given the game away.
However, with this new model, Koenigsegg has managed to take much of the motoring press by surprise -- the only clue as to what to expect is in the car's name.
The company already makes a car called the Agera R, and it is already as fast as it is exclusive. Koenigsegg claims that the car is capable of hitting 273mph -- something pretty difficult to prove without a 10-mile stretch of perfectly straight, perfectly deserted road -- and that it can accelerate from 0-300km/h (186mph) in 14.53 seconds. But it stops almost as quickly as it goes. The car set a Guinness World Record in 2011 by accelerating from 0-300km/h and then decelerating from 300kmh-0 in an incredible 21.19 seconds.
Therefore, logic dictates that a car called the Agera RS will be even faster still. How exactly the company will achieve this while continuing to obey the laws of physics remains to be seen, but the current Agera R's 5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, though incredibly potent (1140hp), doesn't comply with the upcoming Euro VI emissions levels.
So whatever's coming expect it to have a suitably tweaked and responsible engine running the show. At the start of February, Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche, all confirmed that they were bringing new supercars to Geneva, but now it looks like there will be four, rather than three vehicles vying for the title of star of the show.
