Erbil is getting ready to host an international exhibition for tourism, as director general of the exhibition, Abu Bankeen confirmed during a press conference that, 200 companies from 16 coyntries are participating in 2017 Middle East Tourism Exhibition.

He added that Arab countries like, Jordan, Tunisia, Kuwait, Egypt, UAE and Lebanon will participate in the exhibition, along with other countries such as,  Netherlands, Sweden, Ukraine, Britain, Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran. The exhibition will last for 3 days starting from May 3 to May 6 from 10am to 7pm.

CEO of “Fly Miran” Tourist Company, Launde Sheikh Mamundi said that there are international exhibitions for tourism especially in Berlin, and there are in Dubai and now there is one in Erbil for the first time. He said that, Erbil will be a capital for tourism between Europe and Middle East, and that Erbil has many touristic sites that can attract people and there has been a great effort to secure these places to make the tourists feel safe.
 
Mamundi said that, the idea of this exhibition came from the General Authority for Tourism in Kurdistan, despite the degradation of the economic and financial situation, using a professional company in this field. The authority, Fly Miran Company and other known companies such as, "Famra, Boss Boss, Dream Holdie and KBS” met and agreed to hold this exhibition with complete support of the private sector.

Mamundi said it is expected that, 5000 people will visit the exhibition, and this exhibition doesn’t only includes tourist companies, but also religious tourism companies, rented cars companies, healing tourism, banks, restaurants and other touristic places. He asked the government to show full support during this exhibition, and that all invitations to participated tourism ministries have been delivered.
