Except for one "minor delay," all Emirates flights to the United States and the Philippines are operating as scheduled, an Emirates spokesperson confirmed to Khaleej Times on Friday.

Both the US and Philippines are being battered by super typhoons. Hurricane Florence crashed into the Carolinas as a giant, slow-moving storm on Friday while Typhoon Mangkhut (Philippine name: 'Ompong') maintained its ferocious strength and shifted slightly toward more densely populated coastal provinces in northeastern Philippines.

But flights from Dubai to the two countries remain on schedule.

Emirates Airline have daily flights to three international airports in the Philippines - Manila, Cebu and Clark.

"Except for one minor delay on a flight to Manila, there were no cancellations of flights to the Philippines. And no cancellations to the US so far," an Emirates spokesperson told Khaleej Times.

The airline spokesperson added that they are monitoring the weather situation in both countries.

On Thursday, Emirates advised its customers that due to Typhoon Mangkhut, Emirates flight EK338 for Dubai (DXB) - Cebu (CEB) - Clark (CRK) - Dubai (DXB)  on September 15 and September 16 might be impacted.

"Customers are advised to check their flight status for the latest updates and to ensure their contact details are correct by visiting 'Manage Your Booking' to receive the latest updates. Customers booked to travel to/from Cebu/Clark on September 15 or September 16 can opt to change their flights up to 7 days later than originally booked and are requested to contact their travel agent or booking offices to make changes to their bookings," Emirates posted on its website.

"The situation is being closely monitored. We are sorry for any inconvenience," Emirates added.

Meanwhile an Etihad spokesperson told Khaleej Times "everything is operating as normal but the weather conditions are being monitored."
