Egypt's pyramids have been a notable tourist attraction for years
Cairo - Hani Badr Al Din

Egypt's pyramids have been a notable tourist attraction for years Egypt's tourism ministry has announced a notable growth of 14 per cent in tourist revenues during last year. The figure was issued by World Tourism Organisation (WTO) and has raised hope for a country that has been suffering a recent decline due to ongoing conflicts.
Spokesperson for the ministry, Rasha Al Azaizi stated that these figures are a positive indication reflecting "a change in the right direction."
Azaizi added that the performance figures were better than those of 2011, attributing the progress to the new strategy adopted by Egypt's tourism ministry.
Rasha told Arabstoday: "With this strategy, we hope to increase the number of tourists in the country to 30 million by 2020."
Rasha also stressed the ministry's keenness to participate in international exhibitions to represent and showcase Egypt's unique attractions.
