Al Majaz Waterfront, one of Sharjah’s premier tourist and leisure family destinations, is all set to host the Sharjah Food Festival, which is being organised by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) from the 25th of March till the 4th of April.
Al Majaz Waterfront will join three other main destinations of the festival, Al Qasba, Al Montazah and Heart of Sharjah, heralding in the expansion of the festival, which was hosted in Al Qasba only during its previous eight editions.
Among the events scheduled at Al Majaz Waterfront is a daily 90-mitnute demonstration that will be presented by local, regional, and international chefs who will give live cooking shows, while a number of renowned local chefs will give advice and instruction about food preparation to the audience for 30 minutes on a daily basis.
In addition, contestants from the audience will compete in preparing dishes from their home countries. Chef competitions will involve food and fruit carving, cake decoration contests, and ice carving competitions, while festival goers can also look forward to games of skill.
Al Majaz Waterfront will also host 15 its kiosks, food truck & containers displaying different cuisines. Other activities will include the Chef Theatre, and the Best Burger Competition, which will see a contest between two persons from the audience who will display their skills in preparing the most delicious burger. The winner will be selected on criteria of taste and presentation.
The festival will also have plenty of entertainment on offer to young lot, including face painting, Canvas Painting, T Shirt Designing, Sand Art, Henna Tattoo and Nail Coloring.   
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mohammed Al Mazroui, Al Majaz Waterfront manager, said: “Al Majaz Waterfront has become a very popular destination favoured by families in the Emirate of Sharjah. It has been attracting an increasing number of visitors and tourists over the past three years. We are happy that Al Majaz Waterfront will join the other main destinations in Sharjah to host the Sharjah Food Festival together with Al Qasba, Al Montazah, and the Heart of Sharjah. We are sure that the Waterfront's visitors will enjoy every moment of their time and share unforgettable times with their families throughout the 11-day culinary festival."
