Sudan hopes to annihilate polio in the country
Khartoum – Abedalgoum Ashmeag

Sudan hopes to annihilate polio in the country Khartoum – Abedalgoum Ashmeag Sudan's government has announced its keenness to complete the vaccination campaign against polio in conflicted areas, especially South Kordofan . It has insisted that popular movements in the country are hindering completion of the trilateral initiative to deal with the humanitarian issue in the areas of South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.
Sudanese ministry of foreign affairs announced its commitment to have full supervision of the government over the polio vaccination campaign, which has been organised by the UN. The ministry announced its readiness to negotiate with the UN in order to reach an appropriate agreement that allows the campaign to be completed without any interference.
Spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Abu Bakr al  Seddiq, said that the Assistant Secretary General of the UN for humanitarian issues, Valerie Amos, explained during her visit to the country last May that the campaign in question aims to vaccinate 150,000 child under the age of five, including in Kenya and Ethiopia.
