Ready to worship at the alter of style
London - Caroline Kent
Ready to worship at the alter of style The pretty young things on the Frow (front-row) at fashion week are almost as important as the clothes on the runway. If you don't recognise that chic, enigmatic "someone", we'll clear up a few points.
Chances are she's under 25, the daughter of a rock star or publishing magnate, a DJ on the weekend, a blogger from her mobile office (a blackberry on St Barts), and best friends with someone impossibly cool.
She is the Alexa Chung of tomorrow, the Cara Delevigne of today, and all the world (and her hairdresser) wants to be her new best friend.
Why do we love this stylish set so? They are girls' girls. Who cares if they're touted as sexy, desirable or hot. We adore them because they are fabulous, unique personalities with the confidence and intelligence to put together an on-trend and uber expressive wardrobe.
With one instagram, they can make or break a trend, indeed an entire brand.
The talk of the New York Frow was Deena Abdulaziz, a Saudi princess and boutique owner from Riyadh. She was spotted at Ohne Titel and Suno, and also partying with similarly cool pals such as Mary Alice Stephenson. Pristine as she is, Deena wasn't just sitting pretty at the shows. She was stocking-up her upscale boutique D'NA with fashion-forward brands such as Alexander Wang and Haider Ackermann.
She met Prince Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, son of Prince Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, in 1996 and wed the prince. Before you ask, her wedding gown was made by Azzedine Alaia, naturally. She now has three little prince and princesses and an enviable wardrobe. We're not jealous, honestly.
Now London Fashion Week is here we have more front row eye candy in store.
Burberry looks likely to have the most star-studded Frow, boasting attendances in past seasons from Mary Kate Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Emma Watson and Sienna Miller.
After the Brit-pop filled FELDER FELDER Frow on Friday, we'll be looking out for Alexa Chung, Harry styles, Rita Ora and Azealia Banks. Now the Beckhams are back in town, Romeo and Victoria will undoubtedly show face. And, if we're lucky, we'll get a Kate Moss spotting too.
