Glamorous collection Gucci Kicks Off 2012 Milan Fashion Week with Dramatic “Dark Romance” Line-up during the Day 1. While brights have dominated the catwalk for the few seasons, Gucci bucked the trend at Milan Fashion Week. Featuring mostly blacks and opulent shades of deep greens, navy blues and burgundy, designer Frida Giannini delivered a muted show. Models wore dramatic evening dresses in crushed velvet, feathers and chiffon. The show mostly included a series of gowns and red-carpet dresses in crushed velvet, feathers and chiffon for the evening wear section while the opening collection comprised military-style jackets, equestrian-inspired trousers, flowing capes and fur coats. Gucci moved from "fearless femininity" to "dandy indulgence". Playing the masculine/feminine contrast to great effect, the strong, sensual collection perfectly expressed the modern Gucci woman.
