The Lebanese singer Ziad Bourji revealed that he was severely poisoned after eating a fish meal at a restaurant near the capital Beirut. He said after arriving his home, he   felt major discontent in his stomach and contacted some of his friends to take him to hospital.

Bourji said in statements for Arabs Today that he did not expect that amount of pain in his stomach. "At first glance, I did not know I was poisoned, but examinations inside the hospital showed that," he added.

He explained his the health crisis caused him to delay some artistic activities because he was forced to stay in the hospital for days. "It is normal to postpone all the projects that I was doing, it is important that my condition improved, but there is no doubt that what bothered me a lot, especially as I hate the disease," Bourji stated.

Bourji had received calls from his friends, artists and journalists. He was also visited by a Lebanese poet, Ahmed Mady, who stayed nearby him for several days.
