Syria prepares for 59th session of Damascus International Fair

The Syrian Economy and Foreign Trade Minister Adib Mayyaleh, stressed that the recent expo activities witnessed recently in Damascus show that local production is improving and Syrian products can compete on an international level despite the attempts of the terrorists to cut the road between Syria and Iraq because Iraq was the most important export markets for Syrian products. He added that opening the road between the two countries will increase trade exchange as well as they headed to the Egyptian, Algerian, Russian and Iranian markets.

Today, the Syrian goods began to regain its global position, asserting that the private sector is still exporting to over 80 countries, Mayyaleh said.
 
Regarding the preparations of the ministry to support the participants in the 59th session of Damascus International Fair, scheduled to be held on 16 August, he stated that the ministry has taken a decision to transfer all exhibitions held in Damascus at the fairgrounds and will provide free transportation to the citizens during the exhibition, including the Damascus International Fair.

Mayyaleh revealed that a press conference will be held next week in the presence of a number of diplomats and ambassadors to introduce them on the Damascus International Fair, and what it would be like in the new session after a hiatus of five years. 

He added that this would be through a documentary film about the history of the fair within the last three stages of the exhibition time and a time of war, and the third phase of Syria after the war, which starting from 2017, and what we hope to accomplish in this exhibition.

" The ministry also provides facilities for owners of micro products to encourage them to participate in the exhibition through their support in the field of freight and supply in addition to the establishment of a permanent building in the exhibition to display the small and medium enterprise free of charge," the minister stated.
