Businessman Kamal al-Latif
Tunisia – Azhar Jarboui

Businessman Kamal al-Latif Tunisia – Azhar Jarboui Businessman Kamal al-Latif has been ordered not to leave Tunisia by a court on charges of conspiracy against the state. Public prosecutors officially opened a case against him, sources said. Al-Latif was nicknamed “ the man behind the shadows” and was the key decision maker during Prime Minster Beji Caid el Sebsi’s rule.
Members of the Tunisian public did not know anything about al-Latif until President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali was overthrown in January 2011.
News spread that al-Latif helped Ben Ali get the presidency because of his strong ties to the West and US.
Several human rights activists accused al-Latif of spying and manipulating against the Tunisian revolution.
No further evidence or information was discovered about al-Latif and his past remains a mystery.
