Minister of Manpower and Immigration, Mohammed Safaan
Cairo - Wafaa Lotfi

The Minister of Manpower and Immigration, Mohammed Safaan, said that unemployment is one of the Egyptian society's crisis, and it comes on the top of his priorities in the coming period after the renewal of confidence in his ministry during the recent reshuffle.

Safan said, in an exclusive interview with his Egypt Today, that the unemployment issue requires cooperation of all sides to address the crisis, saying: "we will hold during the coming period forums and conferences at the provincial level on a regular basis because of their positive impact on the operation."

In regard with young people's refuse to work in the private sector and permanent demands to find government jobs which are not available, Safan said, "It is a dangerous phenomenon actually, and we warn against its continuing, and I call for the youth to participate in job fairs and change thier ideas about working in the private sector to gain experience and achieve their ambitions."

Safan added, "the most important files that I will continue to follow them are changing the youth culture to work in the private sector, and the establishment of employment fairs in the various provinces to assist young people in finding jobs, and signing protocols with the concerned authorities, enterprises and companies to train young people on the most required jobs in the labor market. "

With regard to the employment of "special needs", Safan stressed that the ministry is concerned with people with special needs on the grounds that they are capable of production and they have the will and the challenge which drives them to work.
