Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) announced today achieving good results in the area of marketing after 2013, asserting that such results have covered a wide range of vital areas, particularly export, sales, distribution, retail and others. Director General of Marketing, Engineer Khalid Ibrahim Bu Hazza'a, highlighted that the total petroleum exports amounted to 85.5 million barrels in 2013 compared to 83.6 million barrels in 2012, with an increase of 1%.
He added that 57% of intermediate products and 19% of the fuel oil, were exported mainly to the Middle East markets, in addition to 19% of naphtha to Asian companies producing petrochemical materials.
He said that the total exports of crude oil from Abu Safa oilfield reached 52.1 million barrels in 2013 compared to 48.2 million barrels in 2012, pointing out that exports of crude oil during 2013 were higher in the light of the success of Aramco in overcoming difficulties, technical challenges and reproduction in Abu Safa to normal rates in the second half of 2013.
According to him, the average price of crude field in Abu Safa was $ 106.2 / barrel last year compared to 110.1 dollars / barrel in 2012.
BAPCO chief said "Sulfur products, which amounted to 458,000 barrels were all exported to Asia markets by 49% to the Indian subcontinent, the main market and 23% to the countries of the Far East, as well as exporting the remaining quantities equally between Southeast Asia and the Middle East."
