Minister of Youth and Sports, Tarek Diab
Tunis – Nabil Zaghdoud

Minister of Youth and Sports, Tarek Diab Tunis – Nabil Zaghdoud A member of the National Constituent Assembly of Tunisia has demanded the questioning the Minister of Youth and Sports, Tarek Diab, of the current government ruled by Ennahda (the Islamic Renaissance) movement. Thisfollows a radio statement on Sun-FM in which Diab said he would never mind accepting the normalisation of relations with Israel through accepting aid from it.
A member of the Democratic Bloc, Shukri el-Kostali has submitted a written request to Tarek Diab demanding he withdraws the statement saying he was "shocked by Diab's statement."
This is considered to be the first written request of its kind from one of the members of this government which has held the reins of power since December 23. The member of the Constituent Assembly cited Chapter 114 of the domestic law of the Constituent Assembly.
This was not an isolated statement. Tarek Diab made a similar statement during a press conference held on Friday in which he is quoted a saying: "If we are offered Israeli aid, we would accept it. No problem".
Tarek Diab was an international player in the Tunisian football team who earlier accused the Tunisian opposition of its willingness to accept aid from Israel which aroused the anger of the opposition MPs who asked him to apologise. However, he declined to apologise saying he saw nothing to apologise for.
