Russia’s Chekhirkin wins Greco-Roman under 77kg gold at World Wrestling Championships

Alexander Chekhirkin of Russia on Sunday won the gold medal in the under 77kg Greco-Roman event at the World Wrestling Championships in Budapest.
In the final match, Chekhirkin, 32, defeated Bulgarian wrestler Tamas Lorincz.
In all, Russian wrestlers grabbed ten gold medals of the current World Wrestling Championships, thus having set a record for such championships. Along with Chekhirkin, the Russian champions are freestyle wrestlers Zaur Uguyev (under 57kg), Zaurbek Sidakov (under 75kg), Magomedrasul Gazimagomedov (under 70kg), Abdulrashid Sadulayev (under 97kg), and Greco-Roman wrestlers Sergei Yemelin (under 60kg), Stepan Maryanyan (under 63kg), Artem Surkov (under 67kg), Sergei Semyonov (under 130kg), and Musa Yevloyev (under 97kg). Russian wrestlers also won a silver and two bronze medals.
