Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria. Cairo – Hossam El Sayed The Egyptian Interior Ministry has approved fans to attend the El Ahly football match with Tunisian Taragie at the Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria. El Ahly has asked security authorities for advice about the match location, giving them the opportunity to choose between Cairo and Borg El Arab stadiums.
Club fans waited anxiously for security official’s decision of holding the match in Borg El Arab stadium as well as agreeing to let fans attend the game.
A source in the club confirmed: "The Egyptian Sport Minister El Amry Farouk has played an important mediation role with Interior Ministry in allowing fans to attend, after making several calls along the day with Interior Minister, Ahmed Gamal El Deen.”
The El Ahly team achieved victory in a friendly match against a sport academy team, which has helped them prepare for the upcoming match against Taragie. The first half saw El Ahly score three goals by Ramy Rabea, Emad Meteab, and Ahmed Sedik, while the second half witnessed a fourth goal by Ahmed Shokry.
On another not, a number of employees from the El Ahly club at Nasser City, organised a demonstration on Wednesday regarding late bonuses which had still not been paid. However, the board of directors interfered to solve the crisis.
