National Guard in Tunisia
Tunisia – Hayet al-Ghanami

The General Union of the National Guard (NG) in Tunisia expressed its fear of going to the security solutions, after the expansion of protests in several areas, especially in the south of Tunisia and the inability to respond to these demands.

The union called the political actors not to involve the security establishment in the midst of political and partisan rivalries, and to show the patriotic spirit and responsibility to address the attempts of deviation from legitimate movements of its peaceful nature.

In a statement, the union urged all security officials to avoid all attempts to lure them into a "quagmire of violence" and to ensure their duty within the framework of the law.

The national guard recommended restraint and respect for freedoms and constitutional rights, including the right to organize and freedom of opinion and expression in a peaceful civilian framework, calling on citizens to miss the opportunity to seditionists seeking to drag them to conflict with their people from security forces.

For its part, Al-Hurra bloc blamed the current government the imbalance in the management, which amounted to the failure to prepare for the visit led by the government delegation headed by Prime Minister Youssef Al-Shahid to the state of Tataouine.

The bloc strongly condemned the treatment received by Prime Minister and the delegation accompanying him by the protesters, as the opposition of the government does not mean to reduce the respect of ministers or assaulting them.

In a statement, the bloc called on the government to adopt the greatest transparency in the management of the nation's wealth and to deal with the problems of disruption of production through dialogue and within the framework of restraint, while providing real solutions without giving up legal options.

Al-Hurra bloc called upon the President of the Republic to intervene within the framework of its constitutional powers to calm the situation and spare the country the dangers of turmoil and chaos.
