Hassan el-Torabi blames Sudanese government for a country in ‘turmoil’
Khartoum - Abedalgoum Ashmeag

Hassan el-Torabi blames Sudanese government for a country in ‘turmoil’ Opposition parties in Sudan are calling for the country’s ruling government to be overthrown, it emerged  today. In a manifesto entitled the New Dawn Document, opposition figures are demanding that the Sudanese government immediately release several opposition leaders who were arrested by police on their way back from drafting the document.
“Leaders of the opposition parties have expressed their solidarity with the families of those imprisoned and are planning to take part in a protest organised by the Popular Conference Party,” chairperson of Sudan’s Coalition of Opposition Parties, Farouk Abu Issa, told Arabstoday.
“Overthrowing the ruling regime is the strategic choice of Sudan’s opposition,” he added.
He also thanked those politicians who signed the New Dawn Document, praising them for “performing a national duty” which he said would help unify Sudan’s opposition.
Abu Issa went on to blame the Sudanese regime for the current problems the country is facing.
Similarly, Hassan el-Torabi, the leader of the Popular Conference Party, accused the Sudanese government of leading the country into “turmoil" and pledged to rally the Sudanese people to overthrow the current regime.
Torabi urged opposition parties in Sudan to prepare for the “eventual” exit of the government, saying he expects new parties to be formed.
Abu Issa also condemned resorting to a military coup to oust the current regime, calling on opposition parties to continue with their protests and demands.
