A son of Yemen’s Deputy Interior Minister Ali Nasser Lakhasha was killed on Thursday during an attack launched by extremist elements loyal to Qaeda in the Yemeni city of Aben. According to sources, the son of Yemeni official was killed during the attack, while six others were injured, including women.
The clashes intensified on Thursday between the Yemeni governmental troops on one hand and the Houthi militias and other forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the other hand in the northern area of Yemen’s strategic city of Mokha. A source revealed that the clashes renewed in coincidence with exchanged artillery attacks between the governmental troops and the insurgents.
The battle expanded in the western side of Moze in coincidence with exchanged artillery attack between the governmental troops and the Houthi militias, as the Arab Coalition’s battleships destroyed 10 missiles related to the Houthi militias in the Northern parties of Mokha Directorate. The attack led to the killing of seven insurgents and the injury of nine others.
In Sada, Governor Hadi Al Wayeli revealed that the Yemeni army managed to restore Mandaba area from the Houthi militants, while he did not give any further details and Houthis have not commented on the issue.
 In the same context, the Arab Coalition expressed its readiness to carry out a military operation to control Hadida Port controlled by the Houthi militias if the United Nations did not take serious steps to manage the strategic port.
Spokesperson of the Coalition Ahmed Al Essiry said, “If the United Nations did not take steps to control the port, the governmental troops would restore control on the strategic port in the near future.” He added that the Yemeni legitimate government is the only recognized authority before the states of the coalition to control the port or at least it should be under the super vision of the United Nations.
He added that the Arab Coalition works currently to qualify Mokha Port to replace Hadida Port in receiving the humanitarian aids provided to the Yemeni people.
In Sana’a, former President Ali Abdullah Saleh met with the leaders of his Conference Party to discuss the activities of the directorates of Arhab and Hamadan. He was keen to attack the Yemeni president, saying that Hadi lost his legitimacy in Yemen and will not enter the capital.
