The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, has expressed support for an address by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during the Inaugural Meeting of Defense Ministers of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) in Riyadh on the importance of strong coordination between Islamic countries and ending of the individual work in combating terrorism.

The cabinet also backed the emphasis by Crown Prince on the result of terrorism in distorting the reputation of the tolerant Islamic religion, intimidating innocents in Islamic and other countries of the world, and the necessity to end it, pursue and eradicate it in all its forms and manifestations.

King Salman briefed the Cabinet via telephone calls with President Vladimir Putin of Russian Federation, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Republic of Turkey and President Abdelfattah el-Sisi of Egypt, on the outcomes of his talks with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the message received from Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

Minister of State, Cabinet's Member and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet commended the final statement issued by the Council of Ministers of Defense of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition and its emphasis on what terrorism represents of constant and growing challenges and threats to regional and international peace, security and stability.

The final statement also emphasized the determination of the coalition's countries to coordinate and unify their efforts to deter terrorism dangers, stand against it and combat it in all its intellectual, media and military fields as well as dry up its financing sources.

At the regional level, the Cabinet welcomed the outcome of the expanded meeting of the Syrian opposition forces held in Riyadh, which unified their ranks and helped create a negotiating team representing all the opposition parties.

The Cabinet was also briefed on the outcome of the meetings of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), held in Istanbul, Turkey, and their stressing the need to address economic challenges facing the Islamic countries.
