Libyan forces launched raids targeting extremist elements in South East of Libya’s Beni Waleed city. They managed to kill a large number of ISIS members and destroyed car bombs and large amounts of their weapons.

According to sources, Libyan forces managed to kill a large number of ISIS militants in a number of areas in the city, including Wadi Souf and Qarza district, in cooperation with the international coalition that launched a number of airstrikes targeting ISIS strongholds.

They added that the military operations led to the killing of Abu Ayad Al Tunsi, a leading militant in Ansar Al Sharia in Benghazi’s Qanfoda district, expecting to restore control on the city during the coming hours after four hours of ISIS domination on Benghazi and its surrounding area.

Abu Ayad Al Tunsi was one of the most wanted figures during the recent years, as he has been accused of involving in a number of crimes, including Tunisian leftist opponent Shoukry Belaid in February 2013. The Tunisian authorities also accused him of planning to storm the U.S embassy in Tunis in retaliation for an American offensive film against Prophet Mohamed.

On the other hand, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry conducted a visit to Tunis on Tuesday to discuss the wats to resolve the Libyan crisis and to combat terrorism.

According to a statement from the ministry, Shoukry will meet with Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, Speaker of Tunisian parliament Mohamed Al Nasser in addition to his Tunisian counterpart Khamis Alaghinawa.
