After losing control on Mosul, ISIS organization returned to use its old methods in facing the Iraqi forces, returning to its tactic of assassinations against the elements of the army and police.

The US State Department is planning to approve a possible $ 150 million military deal with Iraq for pursuing technical support for US-made ships and ship repair, a US defense and security agency report said on Tuesday.

A military source said the death of one Iraqi police and an Iraqi soldier on the right side of the city of Mosul. The source explained that the extremists attacked the Iraqi forces in the first process of its kind since the liberation of the city.

According to the source, the city still contains large amounts of weapons and explosives that have not been discovered yet, and should not fall into the hands of extremists again so as not to be used against Iraqi forces.

According to security sources, the city is still experiencing security tensions in some areas of the west, adding that organization is still sending the suicide bombers to the Iraqi forces, which managed to restore the city of Mosul from the control of ISIS organization after fierce fighting in the city.

The Iraqi Ministry of Displacement and Migration said on Tuesday that about 250 thousand displaced persons returned to their areas in the city of Mosul, out of about one million displaced people fled after the launching of military operations against the organization of ISIS, in October last.

"The number of displaced civilians who returned home to Mosul reached 253,000," Minister Jassem al-Jaff said in statements, stressing that the ministry is working on facilitating the process of the displaced civilians return to their cities across Iraq.

"The size of the destruction in Mosul will delay the return of the displaced people to the city," said Salim Mohammed, a member of the Iraqi parliament. "The western side of the city of Mosul suffers from total destruction in all of its facilities, as well as the presence of war remnants and explosive devices," he added.

On the other hand, three civilians were killed and injured on Wednesday in a bomb blast in Mosul city, the Russian Sputnik news agency has reported.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a security source said a bomb, planted by ISIS militants inside a house, exploded killing two civilians and injuring the third in Bab al-Jadid region in Mosul. The bomb exploded, as the civilians went inside the house to inspect it. The victims were a father and his son.

The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq said that the violence and explosions in the country killed 241 people and injured 277 others last July, pointing out that civilians formed the majority of victims; 239 civilians were killed and 273 wounded.

According to the statistics, Nineveh province was the worst hit, with 121 civilians killed and 112 injured, followed by Baghdad governorate (central), with 38 civilians killed and 85 injured.
