International coalition raids kill 42 extremists in Mousl

Iraqi troops resumed advance in Mousl in cooperation with the international coalition which managed to kill 42 extremists during an airstrike against ISIS strongholds.

Lieutenant Colonel John Dorrian, spokesperson of the coalition, said in a statement that the Iraqi troops can keep peace and stability in Mousl’s left bank which it recently restored, praising coordination between the Iraqi government and the Kurds during the current fight against ISIS. He stressed the importance of Mousl’s battle, saying that the coalition carried out 100 raids this week.

On his hand, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi announced on January 24 the full liberation of Mousl’s left bank, signaling that his government signed 27 memorandums to rebuild the liberated areas of the city. He called the Iraqi forces to liberate the right bank as soon as possible.

Leader of “We Are Coming Nineveh” operation Abdel Amir Yar-Allah said that 42 extremist have been killed during an airstrike, stressing that they also managed to destroy three hideouts for the terrorist group.

He praised the role performed by the Iraqi air forces to secure the Popular Mobilization Forces in the city’s western side, saying that they carried out a number of raids that led to the killing of 33 extremists and destruction of four wheels.

The Iraqi security forces found a workshop, related to ISIS, to manufacture phantom wheels in Nineveh’s Araby district, according to a statement from Iraq’s Ministry of Defense, adding that the extremist group used these wheels to camouflage the reconnaissance aircraft.
