Elite forces of Hadramout control Do'an directorate from Al Qaeda

Elite forces of Hadramout managed to take control of the whole directorate of Do'an in the Hadramout plateau on early Tuesday in a qualitative military operation. Al-Qaeda extremist group, that was controlling the area, was forced to withdraw completely to the mountains. According to local sources, large military forces belonging to the elite forces entered Do'an valley in the early hours of Monday and spread throughout the Directorate.

The source added that the armed clashes between the elements of "Al Qaeda" and the elite forces of Hadramout broke out immediately after the forces entry to Do’an, indicating that the size of the elite military forces pushed the extremist militants to withdraw. It added that the Arab Coalition’s fighter jets will launch air raids against the strongholds of the extremist militias in the mountainous areas during the coming period.

The second military zone in the Hadramout coast declared the state of emergency in the Do'an Directorate and the curfew from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am in anticipation of any emergency as a first step to stabilize the security and stability of the Directorate. The second military area called on civilians in Do'an to report any elements suspected to be affiliating to Al Qaeda extremist group or any vehicles related to it, promising to maintain the confidentiality of the information and the identity of the informers.

According to witnesses, Elements of the “Al Qaeda” bombed a security headquarters in the province of Hadramout east of the country. According to local sources said that the elements of al-Qaeda blew up on Sunday evening, a center of the elite forces of Hadriyahm in the Valley of Hadramout.

“Clashes broke out between al-Qaeda militants and the military force rushed to the area” according to sources. Al-Qaida organization operations were concentrated in the last three months in Abyan province. Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) took Yemen as a center of its armed operations.

The dominance of the elite forces on the Do’an Directorate is considered the most important military achievement of the elite forces, since the liberation of the provincial capital of Mukalla and the entire coastal area of Hadramawt from al-Qaeda on April 24, 2016, after a year of their control of the province.

The elite forces succeeded to impose security and stability in these areas after liberation, the matter that led to a growth in trade and investment movement, while services witnessed notable improvement.
