Daesh fighters
Tripoli – Fatma El Saadawy

Italian investigators believe that number of Daesh fighters had entered Europe using a new system that was dedicated to wounded Libyans, as an intelligence document revealed that, they managed to enter the country faking injury through a complicated network that was formed back in 2015. According to this document, Daesh elements are involved in smuggling wounded Libyans abroad using fake passports.   The document focuses on a health project financed by west to provide healthcare to wounded people, but this project is run in a “suspicious manner", despite the fact it is under the government supervision and is recognized by the United Nations. The document also indicates that, Libyan government is unintentionally paying Daesh fighters travel expenses, and that some diplomats are using “Center for the support of Libyan wounded” system to apply for entrance visas for wounded soldiers to be treated in Europe, but some od Daesh elements use this system to enter the country.   It also stated that, the intelligence discovered that Daesh controlled a passports office in Sart city and stole 2000 white documents. The French government declared that, Daesh managed to develop an advanced organization and created more than 200 fake passports, and unknown number of its fighters had been transformed to a hospital in Istanbul to be treated since December 2015. Most of these “fake wounded” came from Libyan city of Fatih, where most of Daesh fighters are stationed, and from there they are distributed.   Misurata city is the center of the smuggling operation, and where the fake passports are created. The document mentioned the countries that can be entered using these passports, and they are Turkey, Romania, Serbia and Bosnia, as well as France, Germany and Switzerland.   The Italian doctor mentioned in the document, Rudolph Pochi confirmed that some people in the report contacted him to coordinate the treatment, but he is not sure of what happened after that with the program. The document describes the complete contradictory attitude of the Libyan government, although it doesn’t pay Daesh wounded treatment expenses but, it facilities their undocumented exit.   Sources indicated that, most of the extremists had connection with the organization in Syria, but lately the terrorist operations happen in Europe are connected to Libya like, Abdul Hamid Abu Oud, the leader of Paris attacks, who had connections with Daesh elements in Libya. Naval forces belong to the Libyan National Reconciliation Government took over 2 ships suspected of oil smuggling after clashes with fire weapons that lasted for few hours , west of Tripoli. The spokesman of Libyan Navy, Ayoub Kasem declared that,  the clashes continued for 3 hours, but the forces managed to confiscate the ships, but he didn’t mentioned any casualties or other details related to the ships’ crews.   Italian Defense Minister, Roberta Benotti said in a statement to "Misajiro" newspaper that, UNHCR and the International Organization for Migration can resume their activities in Libya based on the agreement between Italy and the Libyan government that states all immigrants affairs are run by the United Nations. She confirmed that, her country will play a vital role in the UN activities in Libya and that Italy is only country in the European Union that has re-opened its embassy, along with a military attaché in Tripoli.   Italian Foreign Minister, Angelino Alfano said in a statement that, achieving stability in Libya will reduce immigration and this is what the international community wants, mentioning his conversation with Fayez Al-Sarraj, President of the Government of Al-Wefaq, that they both agreed on taking immediate actions. Fayez Al-Sarraj also said that, team work will help to overcome the current financial crisis, adding that his presidential council is not refusing responsibility, and it is working continuously with its partners to fix money policies in the country.   He added that, there will not be a successful dialogue within the current military escalation that is happening in the south, saying that all forms of this escalation need to stopped in order to bring back stability, embassies, companies, organizations and foreign investments.   Six years after the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya is still suffering from clashes and wars between armed factions that fought against Gaddafi and now are fighting each other and damaging and targeting the Oil infrastructure. Tunisian Defense Minister, Farhat al-Harashani said that, the army will protect vital and oil facilities in Tataouine Governorate from Libyan extremists, where there have been protests for weeks demanding development and jobs’ opportunities.
