Aden – Hossam Kherbash

The Houthi militias and the military forces loyal to former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh were stepping up their attacks on the Saudi border in recent times. The pro-Houthis and Saleh's military forces launched attacks on Saudi military sites in Najran, Asir and Jizan, while a loyal official to the Houthis announced that their forces stormed military sites in Najran and destroyed a tank with a missile, and targeted by mortar shells other locations in Jizan.

A source in the Saudi forces said that the military forces faced an attack on Najran and the Saudi artillery shelled elements who tried to infiltrate into Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Apache helicopters launched raids on the rebels who tried to sneak in conjunction with the artillery bombardment of Houthi gunmen and killed a Saudi soldier, a few weeks ago, in the Jizan region the border between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Interior ministry noted that the Border Guards member Mohammad Musa Hassan Mahzari was killed amid heavy shooting on a border point in the Jizan region.

Saudi forces also objected a ballistic missile fired by Houthi forces on Saudi territory last month, the Saudi Interior had announced in January the killing of one of its members in Najran on the border with Yemen, pointing out that border guards member Mohammed Yahya Alndjaa was killed in exchange of fire with the Houthis.
