Iraqi joint forces resumed their rapid advance during the current military operation aiming to liberate the Iraqi city of Mousl, as anti-extremism troops managed to kill a number of extremists loyal to ISIS. Meanwhile, Spokesperson of International Coalition John Dorithan expected that Mousl will witness fierce fighting between the Iraqi troops and ISIS extremists.

Dorian confirmed the Iraqi Army is about to retake Mosul after "increasingly pushing on the ISIS terrorists despite the latter's brutal tactics.”
"The defeat of ISIS is just a question of time. Mosul will become a liberated city within a short time," he added. The Iraqi governmental forces, backed by its militias and air covering from the international coalition, started on Oct. 17 an offensive to retake Mosul.
In the same context, sources revealed that the Iraqi security forces launched an attack against ISIS in Anbar’s district of Haditha, saying that the attack in which the American ground troops participated led to the killing of a large number of extremists.
The sources added that the American troops managed to destroy three car bombs used by the extremist group to counter the attackers. They added that the killing of seven ISIS terrorist in a shelling on four hideouts for the terrorist group in Anbar Governorate.
In a press statement, Zobai said an oil tank was also destroyed in shelling on Rawah district in Anbar.Iraqi security forces on Wednesday launched operations to retake Annah, Rawah, and al-Qaem districts in Anbar from ISIS terrorists and set free thousands of civilians besieged there.
Iraqi government troops and allied paramilitary groups retook Wednesday a major region in western Mosul from Islamic State militants, adding to earlier victories made in the region over the past few days.
The Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell quoted the Joint Operations Command saying that the army’s 9th division, backed by paramilitary groups, completely recaptured the region of Badush, northwest of Mosul. The statement said the development put government forces and allied groups in total control over the western bank of the Tigris River, which bisects Mosul.
