Defecting Libyan soliders are protesters Tunis - AFP A group of 41 Libyans, 27 from the military and including officers, have arrived in Tunisia, the official TAP news agency reported Wednesday, without saying if the soldiers had defected. The group arrived on Tuesday  at Tunisia's El Ketef port in the southeastern Mednine area on the border with Libya, the agency reported.
A Tunisian defence ministry official said Tuesday that soldiers from the army of embattled Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi had defected and taken refuge in Tunisia, without giving their number or where they had arrived.
It was not immediately clear if it was the same group as referred to in the TAP report.
On Monday about 30 Libyans wounded in fierce fighting between rebels and pro-Kadhafi forces were transferred to neighbouring Tunisia for treatment.
Between Monday and Tuesday around 6,000 Libyans fleeing their fighting in their country crossed into Tunisia, along with hundreds of other nationals, government officials said.
