Tunis - Tap
Tunisair will resume, on Tuesday, its flights to Tripoli after their suspension on November 27, 2011 for security reasons. The first flight between Tunis-Carthage international airport and Tripoli airport is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 17:30. The decision to resume flights still depends on the confirmation of the insurance company tasked with insuring this flight, Mrs. Soulafa Mokaddem, officer in charge of communication at Tunisair told TAP news agency. An average of 2 daily flights will be scheduled throughout the week from Wednesday, December 14, 2011. There will be no changes on the schedule of the three weekly flights to Benghazi airport, Mr. Mokaddem said. Tunisair had suspended its flights to Tripoli airport)Libya) last November 27 after difficulties of takeoff for six hours faced by one of its aircraft Airbus A320 at the Maitiga airport. Libyan armed insurgents from the region of Soug Jomaa had tried to pressure the Libyan Government which refused to carry the wounded to Tunisia to provide them needed care. The pilot of the plane, carrying 54 passengers on board, namely 7 Tunisians and 47 Libyans, some of them wounded, refused to allow insurgents access the aircraft.
