Saudi carrier to use Boeing 747 during Ramadan

Saudi Arabia's national carrier nasair is will use the Boeing 747 airliner for flights between Riyadh and Jeddah The 470-seat aircraft is serving Umrah passengers throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan as part of nasair's strategic plan to cater the growing demand for Umrah trips during Ramadan. In a statement, the airline added that the B747 will be dedicated to those travelling between Riyadh and Jeddah. The statement said that the plane would help narrow the gap between supply and demand within the domestic sector in Saudi Arabia, especially between Riyadh and Jeddah during peak seasons. Last week, nasair announced the arrival of four new Airbus A320s, part of an order for 10 aircraft for delivery in 2013 – increasing the company’s fleet of Airbus planes to support the continuing growth of nasair services in the kingdom. Since its launch in 2007, nasair has carried more than 12 million passengers, rapidly winning the trust of customers with a schedule of 950 flights a week to 88 domestic and international destinations.
