Saudi Arabia
Jeddah - KUNA

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said Saturday it was planning to increase capacities of airports nationwide to more than 100 million passengers by 2020.
GACA Board Members approved the 2020 strategy that included many objectives like expansion of 27 domestic and regional airports, the authority said in a statement.
GACA President Prince Fahad bin Abdullah said the strategy coincided with giant civil aviation projects.
Prince Fahad said GACA has recently decided to open Saudi Arabia's skies for new airliners, and launched a privatization program in the civil aviation sectors with the major aim of boosting Saudi Arabia position within the international civil aviation.
The 2020 strategy also aims at increasing competitiveness in the ground services and handling sector, cargo and airplane supplies.
