Paris - Arabstoday

A Russian-operated train has arrived in Paris after a 37-hour cross-continental journey, inaugurating a new line that directly connects Moscow, Berlin and the French capital for the first time in nearly two decades. The train, operated by a subsidiary of Russian railway company RZD, left Moscow early Monday, arriving in Berlin the following morning and in Paris on Tuesday evening. The train traveled 3,177 kilometers (1,974 miles) at speeds up to 200 kph (124 mph). It’s made up of eight sleeping carriages, a bar and dining car. Three trains a week are to run during winter, and five per week during summer. Tickets are sold out through the end of the year, a statement quoted RZD’s director as saying.
