Manama - BNA

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which currently serves 38 destinations from Bahrain International Airport, today announced it will run twice weekly services between Kuwait City and the Turkish city of Istanbul in response to increased demand from the State of Kuwait.
The airline will operate direct flights starting from 02 October. The new service will depart Kuwait at 22:15 with return flights departing Istanbul at 02:50.
Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maher Salman AlMusallam said he was "delighted" by the latest route: "Gulf Air and the Kuwait market hold longstanding ties since the national carrier’s maiden flight in 1959. This latest development affords our Kuwait-based passengers the opportunity to directly access one of our most popular destinations. A direct flight makes the journey easier and we expect this route to be very popular while paving the way for future positive enhancements to our network offering."
Gulf Air Senior Manager Sales GCC and MENA regions, Mr. Ahmed AlMatrook commented: "We are pleased to give travellers the chance to visit some of Istanbul's most notable landmarks. Launching the new direct Kuwait-Istanbul route caters to travel demand and we want Gulf Air passengers to avail this route at competitive prices while we continue to offer convenient connections between Bahrain and Kuwait."
Gulf Air flights between Kuwait International Airport and Istanbul Atatürk Airport are operated by an A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration featuring 16 Falcon Gold seats and 120 Economy Class seats with the entire aircraft equipped with Gulf Air’s latest in-flight entertainment technology and offering passengers hundreds of channels of entertainment.
