Egypt's tourism minister receives Belgian media delegation

Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou received on Monday a Belgian media delegation that groups Travel Magazine, VRT agency and the newspapers of La Province, La Capital, La Meuse, La Nouvelle, Gazette and Nord Éclair.

The tourism movement has witnessed an improvement during the period from January to August compared with the same period last year, Zaazou said.

Tourism is considered one of the most important sources of hard currency in Egypt, he said.

Egypt is a distinguished tourism destination, he said, adding that he will visit a number of tourist cities nationwide to discuss problems facing tourism in these cities.

The security situation in Egypt is stable, he stressed.

He asserted the importance of paying attention to the promising markets such as the Chinese markets.

The European market is important to Egypt, he said.

The European market represents nearly 70% of the tourism movement coming to Egypt, he added.
