 A senior Interior Ministry official on Sunday emphasized close cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning and the Kuwait Municipality for developing the best solutions to increase road capacity and streamline traffic.
During an inspection tour in the traffic sector today, the Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Maj.Gen. Abdullah Al-Mahanna lauded efforts by the General Department of Traffic adopting modern traffic systems for a comprehensive development of performance, the ministry's security media department said in a statement.
Al-Mahanna appreciated the efforts to monitor roads and end traffic jams during the Eid Al-Adha days.
The Planning Affairs and Traffic Research department is working hard to reach solutions to the traffic issue as a whole, Al-Mahanna said, urging rapid handling of simple accidents that hinder traffic.
During the tour, the senior official reviewed systems related to streamlining citizens' and residents' services with the various bodies of the ministry, the statement noted. He also inspected the operations room of the Traffic Department.
Maj.Gen. Al-Mahanna conveyed greetings by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to members of the traffic sector on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
For his part, Assistant Director of the General Department of Traffic for Planning Affairs and Traffic Research Maj. Gen. Saleh Al-Najem, stressed that traffic safety is a collective responsibility that has to be handled as a whole with full transparency for reaching the aspired results and overcome traffic problems.
