Bangkok - Xinhua

Bangkok Metro Company Limited (BMCL) said on Monday that the company will halt service at Phaholyothin station if floodwaters rise above 60cm or second step of the entrance. Water levels at Phaholyothin, Lat Phrao, Chatuchak and Khampaengphet stations are being under closed watch as they are in flood-hit area. Actually, floodwaters have already reached those four stations and overflowed the first step of the stations' entrance. All 18 subway stations kept providing services as usual but those four stations are at the risk of being submerged as floodwaters from the upper north of Bangkok are creeping into inner city. Earlier the company said the metro stations were protected against two-meter high floods or 3.5 meters above sea level. The outer part of northern Bangkok was flooded during the last week of October and floodwater continued moving to inner city. Until now, 13 of Bangkok's overall 50 districts have been affected.
