US President Barack Obama and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet on Sunday ahead of the G20 summit in China, the White House announced Monday.

    The two leaders will be expected to discuss the circumstances in Turkey since the failed coup attempt, the campaign against the ISIS group, and efforts to promote achieve stability in Syria and address the refugee crisis, U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes told reporters.

    The meeting will be the first between the two presidents since the July 15 attempted coup and comes as the U.S. has urged Turkey to focus its efforts in Syria on fighting ISIS, Anadolu Agency reported. The G20 summit runs in China on September 4 and 5.
