The fourth session of the World Government Summit, themed ‘Shaping Future Governments’, kicked off here on Monday under the patronage of Vice President and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid al Maktoum.

Egyptian Prime Ismail Sherif, who arrived here earlier in the day, will lead his country's delegation to the summit.

Sherif will address the summit on the Egyptian State's efforts to achieve sustainable development within the coming years and the steps taken by the government to offer better services and facilities in all domains.

The Egyptian delegation groups the ministers of planning, international cooperation, investment and higher education as well as the Central Bank of Egypt governor.

Sherif will hold meetings with senior UAE officials over boosting bilateral cooperation.

To be attended by more than 3,000 participants from 125 countries, including heads of state, top dignitaries, leaders and experts from the government and private sectors across the world, the summit will have US President Barack Obama deliver a keynote speech via closed-circuit television on the opening day.

The US will participate as the guest of honor at this year’s event.

The summit will include the Museum of the Future, which will showcase new technologies that can support government services, and the Edge of Governments exhibit, which will highlight 15 case studies on Governance 2.0. It will also honor the winners of the 'Best Minister in the World' award, 'Best Mobile Government Service' award, and 'Innovative Teacher' award. After the Summit, organizers will release several research reports and surveys.
