Cairo - Arab Today

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Wednesday with Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao in the presence Communication and Information Technology Minister Yasser El Qady, Spokesman for Presidency Alaa Yousef said on Wednesday.

During the gathering, president Sisi hailed the worldwide company's long-standing activities and investments in the telecommunications sector in Egypt, Yousef added.

Also, the Egyptian leader praised the company's projects in the domains of health, education, agriculture and the community's development, according to Yousef.

For his part, Colao touched on the increase in his company's activities in Egypt and its impact in providing more job openings, pointing to the available mega investment opportunities in the telecommunication and technology sectors, Yousef asserted.

Also, he expressed his willingness to pump more investments on the Egyptian market and expand on other markets.

The State pays great attention to the telecommunication sector and seeks to make a quantum leap at the level and quality of communication services offered to citizens and also in various economic sectors, Sisi asserted.

The Egyptian president talked about the State's plans to establish technology areas in a number of Egyptian cities with the aim of building a strategy base to serve telecommunication and information technology companies.
