National Defense Minister Yaqoub Riad Sarraf on Wednesday said that "the prevailing security situation shall be further strengthened and reinforced thanks to the exceptional efforts of the Lebanese army."
Minister Sarraf received on Wednesday Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, and members of the Military Council, whereby he hailed the great achievements of the Lebanese army in its victory over terrorism, and highlighted the pre-emptive and security operations which contributed to the dismantling of terrorist rings and their collapse.
"The army, which succeeded in conquering terrorism, is capable of fortifying Lebanon and protecting its borders, regardless of the magnitude of challenges," he said.
General Aoun, for his port, well-wished the Minister on the festive season, stressing that the army will not hesitate to do everything necessary to protect Lebanon's security and stability,
Aoun emphasized that the army shall not allow anyone to tamper with Lebanon's security, stability and civil peace, stressing the army'sfull readiness to keep up with any development
