Palestinian President Meets Maltese Parliament's Speaker

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here today, with the Speaker of the Maltese Parliament Anglu Farrugia and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the Palestinian territories . 
President Abbas briefed the Maltese official on the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and the Israeli continued attacks on the Palestinians, stressing the need for international community's support for the French initiative aimed at holding an international peace conference on the Palestinian issue .. 
He also stressed keenness to promote relations with Malta for the benefit of the two friendly peoples. 
For his part, the Maltese Parliament Speaker stressed his country's support for the two-state solution , and its keenness to strengthen relations with the State of Palestine.
