Cairo - Arab Today

Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr reviewed with Iraqi Ambassador in Cairo Habib al Sadr means of boosting Iraqi investments in Egypt.

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said the talks also tackled preparations for the third high Egyptian-Iraqi committee meeting due to be held in Baghdad under the premiers of the two countries.

Nasr underlined the government's keenness on the committee's convocation as soon as possible to review cooperation mechanisms in various domains.

Coordination is underway with Iraqi authorities for examining drafts of proposed agreements and memorandums of understanding.

Nasr welcomed Iraqi investments in Egypt, noting that Egypt took several measures to improve the investment climate, including the ratification of the new investment law.

The Iraqi diplomat said Iraqi businessmen seek to pump more investments into Egypt in the coming period.

Nasr noted that efforts are underway to prepare an all-out investment map to cover investment opportunities in all governorates.
