Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi discussed Friday with Arab League (AL) chief Ahmed Abul Gheit the latest regional developments and the role of the pan-Arab body in settling crises in some countries in the region.

Talks also touched on ways to render an upcoming AL ministerial meeting, under Tunisian presidency, successful and fruitful, Abul Gheit said.

Tunisia also expressed its support for the AL role in maintaining security, peace and stability in the region, Abul Gheit added.
