Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy is due to receive here on Monday Executive secretary of the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Cristiana Pasca Palmer
They are set to tackle preparations for the 14th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the CBD, scheduled to be held in Sharm el Shiekh in November 2018.
During her visit, the UN official will be briefed on the agenda of high level segment of the conference that will see ministers from across the world.
She will also inspect the venue of the conference in Sharm el Shiekh to get first hand information about the underway preparations for the event that will bring together representatives of the UN, government organizations along with international NGOs.
The global gathering will also draw in experts and youths interested in the field of biological diversity.
